About how many hours a week do you work? And what are the hours? |
Because I have my Own
Business, Twins, a Husband, and a Weimaraner, my hours vary. Typically, I work about 40
hours per week. |

Is your job
stressful? If so in what ways? |
The most stressful aspects
of Interior Design are: 1. Deadlines, 2. Dependency on others to live up to their
commitments (furniture manufactures, contractors, installers, etc.), and, 3. When working
independently, (especially in the beginning), making ends meet. I think these aspects are
typical of most businesses. |

What do you like best
about your job? |
First of all, being able to
work at home. I can be here for my family. (I worked for 10 years in an office, for
someone else. This is not typically something you can do right out to school.) Secondly,
the gratification that comes from creating a pleasant, and functional, home or office
environment for a client. Seeing a client happy. And three, seeing your ideas implemented.
The final product, and if it turn out the way you envisioned it. |

What do you like
least about your job? |
First of all, worrying about
making ends meet, as an independent entity. (I just started my site last January. It takes
about two years to see how you'll do on the Internet.) Secondly, (in some residential jobs
in particular), being in the middle of a peoples differences (sometimes unrelated to
design). Trying to get all concerned to reach a compromise. |

Where do you plan to be
in 5 years? |
I plan to be doing the same
thing I am doing now, except on a larger scale. I hope to still be offering interior
design information/services/products on the Internet, and running a home-based business. |
